Who can take out insurance?

Ideal for foreign:

• scholarship holders
• students
• guest scientists
• trainees
• language students
  (e.g. during preparation for language examinations)
• as well as accompanying family members

What should I know?

• Maximum admission age: 40 years (up to 55 years of age upon request)
• Maximum insurance period: 60 months
• Minimum insurance period: 1 month
• Cover can be extended prior to expiry of the policy by phone, post, fax or e-mail
• Method of payment: monthly
• Cancellation: anytime, effective to the last day of the month
• without fix excess
• The insurance protection is world-wide. In Home-Country only up to 6 weeks for each insurance year

What benefits are NOT insured*?

Benefits not insured include

• Illnesses and results of accidents, for treatment of which travel is being undertaken, as well as costs for treatment which was known and should have been undertaken before the planned start of travel, and illnesses and results of accidents which occurred prior to the policy taking effect.
• Treatment for psychiatric and mental disorders
• All types of preventive examinations, or routine checks or inoculations
• Costs for certificates and attestations, examinations for obtaining residence permits
• Abortion, existing pregnancy prior to the policy taking effect, otherwise always a qualifying period of 8 months.
• Treatment by intent, withdrawal and weaning treatment
• dentures, inlays

How can I take out the insurance?

Online:
You can take out your insurance over the Internet using our online form. Simply enter your personal details. As result the system shows you your personal details and you insurance policy number. The contract than was successful completed.

Post or fax:
Simply download the German-English application form as a PDF file, complete it, and then send it by post or fax it to the address on the form.

Application as PDF file

You will receive your insurance policy after a few days (it can also be sent by fax or e-mail upon request). The charges will be debited from your account.

How do I submit prescriptions and doctors’ bills?

If you receive out-patient treatment, the doctor will prepare a bill which you will normally have to pay immediately.

For prescribed medication subject to reimbursement, the dispensing chemist will give you the stamped prescription showing the prices of the medication.

Please send such bills/receipts (only originals, no copies) with a copy of your certificate of insurance and details of your bank account in Germany to:
