Information to tariff science baggage

What is insured?

Insured baggage involves all things on individual demand of the insured person within the agreed coverage, also including presents.

Short information on Science Baggage*

Baggage insurance:

The baggage insurance compensates within the agreed coverage:

• the present value of the baggage in the case of theft and pilferage, in the case of damage or non-delivery due to an accident of the means of transportation respectively in the case of a natural hazard;


• the present value of the checked in baggage in the case of damage or lost;


• up to the limit of the agreed sum insured;


• the proven expenditures for recovery of the baggage


• or the necessary replacement purchase to proceed the stay within the agreed coverage up to 150 EUR per person if the baggage arrives not within the same day. Limited insurance cover applies to jewellery and treasuries, eyeglasses, cell phones among other things.
  No insurance cover applies to jewellery and treasuries within the checked-in baggage or in case of wilfully or grossly negligent cause of the insured event.
  
  Event of a claim
  If your luggage gets damaged or lost please inform the carrier without delay and request a written incident acknowledgement. In case of theft or any other criminal act report to the police and request a copy of the protocol or any other written proof.
  Breaking these rules can result in a reduction or the loss of the claim. Wilful deception in case of a claim will cause the loss of cover.
  Own risk: 25 EUR per claim
  
  
  Complementary baggage insurance
  compensates, within the agreed cover, the present value of laptops up to 1.000 EUR and extends the baggage insurance for cameras and accessories with an amount of 1.000 EUR.
  Own risk: EUR 50 per claim
