European Health Insurance Card (EHIC)
The European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) is valid in all EU countries and some other European countries. With the EHIC could people who are insured over a public health insurance receive medical services in Europe. The EHIC must not be applied separately, because it is automatically printed on the back of the insurance card.

The EHIC must not be applied separately, because it is automatically printed on the back of the insurance card. The European Health Insurance Card is issued only by statutory health insurance – not by private health insurance.
Private health insurance
For private health insurances – what our tariffs are, an EHIC is not provided. In the covered area where your tariff is valid,you con go directly to the doctor. Then you will receive an invoice, which you pay directly. This bill then submit to us or the relevant insurer for reimbursement. For inpatient treatment please contact the emergency hotline of the insurer. They will then get in touch directly with the hospital and initiate the necessary steps.
