Germany is the most attractive non-English-speaking country for international students

Germany has managed to move up a few places in the ranking and currently ranks as the most attractive non-English-speaking country.

Statistics are collected every year to find out which countries are popular for international students. Universities in Germany are constantly improving their quality and offering more and more courses in English. The international students find this very good. It is also reflected in the international ranking. Germany has managed to move up a few places in the ranking and currently ranks as the most attractive non-English-speaking country.

In recent years, a positive development of foreign students in Germany has been recorded. This trend continues and brings the Federal Republic further ahead in the international ranking. The following chart illustrates the positive development in recent years.

In the previous year, 374,583 international students studied in Germany. In France, the most attractive non-English-speaking country until then, were about 6,000 students less than in Germany. If the numbers from the diagram and the table are compared, it can be seen that the number for Germany is not identical. This is because foreign students were defined differently. In the diagram, all students in Germany with a foreign nationality count as foreign students. Also the students who already originally live in Germany. Later in the table, only foreign students who came from a foreign country mainly to study are counted. Since only the second students influence the ranking, only these were considered.
