Terms and conditions for receiving a grant
Projects eligible for a grant
The application for the project grant is open to students who wish to save, or are already saving, the environment with their projects around the world. We support projects that have already started as well as projects that need some help starting out. We even support promising sustainability project ideas.
Our grant is aimed at projects with a relevant and current connection to the global sustainability targets that contribute to sustainable development. We will support your projects anywhere in the world. Each individual project is entitled to a one-off grant covering a period of one calendar year.

The spectrum of sustainability
If you are interested, submit your application by 15 November 2021.
Our jury selects five finalists from all applications by 30 November 2021.
One winner is selected by public vote from 1 to 15 December 2021.
You have won -
We will give you the first EUR 1,000€ at the beginning of your project so that you get off to great start.
Your project, which we are financially supporting, is to be regarded as an example which we wish to communicate through our various channels. Once every trimester, you will provide us with documents about your project that are suitable for this purpose.
Reporting and communication
We mentor you during your project
We will support you financially during the implementation of your project for a period of one year. You will keep us updated with regular reports and provide us with material for sharing your work with the world.
You will submit one report every 4 month with the following details:
At the end of a trimester, we reserve the right to request a report on how the funds for the supported projects have been used for the intended purpose. You will provide us with the invoices and receipts.
We may request for you to repay the grant if you fail to provide proof that the funds have been used as intended.
You will have to repay the funds granted by us if they have not been used for the implementation of the project or the project is discontinued.
We do not support completed projects and pure infrastructure projects (e.g. solar energy systems).
Applications must be submitted by 15 January 2021. The projects must start no later than mid-2021.
You are welcome to refer to the MAWISTA grant as part of the press and PR activities for your supported project. However, this is not mandatory. You can use our logo in publications (flyers, posters, etc.) and social media posts for this purpose. We will be pleased to provide you with the files for this.
We assume the costs for actual expenses up to a maximum amount of EUR 1,000 per trimester and project. This includes external services and travel expenses. The grant should be used mindfully and specifically for the realisation of the project. When purchasing goods and selecting external service providers, please ensure that the materials and services are sustainable.
You can, and are in fact encouraged to, co-finance your project with your own funds and/or other financing sources.
If you fail to comply with our reporting requirements or deviate considerably from the timetable, budget or project plan during the project grant period, we reserve the right to terminate the support for your project, stop any further financial support and request the repayment of any grant money already issued.
